Ogyginus corndensis is a well-known trilobite species notable for its large, smooth exoskeleton, wide cephalon, and crescentic glabella. It is a member of the: Order: Asaphida Superfamily: Asaphoidea Family: Asaphidae Geological Stage: Llanvirn (part of the Darriwilian Stage, Middle Ordovician, ~465 million years ago) Depositional Environment: Deeper marine shelf with fine-grained sedimentation and low-energy conditions This trilobite is highly sought after by collectors due to its broad shape and excellent preservation in dark Ordovician limestone.
